Bird Numbers

Anyone seen many ducks? Not looking for spots just wandering if you've seen any signs of the migration yet. Thinking the late spring pushed the early migration back a little bit. Only seen a handful of migrants in my spots east, mostly teal and a few pintail and gadwall.

I heard that 2 buffleheads visited in the MoreHead area. Also have heard of some Ruddy Ducks making an appearance up north

I heard rumors that the magical North Carolina Duck has returned. He has been spotted in several places. Some days he is a Mallard, other days a Pintail. Always a big drake too. :lol3:

PS: Don't waste your ammo shooting at him. He cannot be killed. Better to just post your observation right here.

I have been seeing a few reports saying they have seen some Ruddy Ducks and today 75 high flying geese flew over...

Weather north of us not looking very good. Piss warm everywhere. Skeeters are swarming for the kids tonight. I think I'll get the rods back out for Vet's Day weekend.

Lots of birds around. I think all the cold weather up north is pushing down the woodies and calendar ducks. Not sure why we have an early season, I saw 1 bird during early season, today scouting I saw well over 50 in the same spots.

Awesome man! Hopefully in 3 or 4 weeks things will be in full swing! Did see some migrating honkers Thurs. afternoon so that is encouraging. Still haven't seen the first Mallard, Teal, or any divers. Hoping that by mid January the divers will be thick on the big water

Good luck
