Needing Support.

Postby KyFowl20 » Fri Nov 01, 2013 4:52 pm

So Tunechi continues to defficate and urinate on our rugs, blankets, and newly refinished hardwood floors and my wife continues to think that its ok, that he will eventually grow out of it. He is 5 months old, won't take a dump or piss outside for me and only on occasion for the Mrs. Today I picked up a couple rugs and blankets and seriously wanted to throw them away because they smelled like dog piss so bad. This. Drives. Me. Insane. Mainly because he is making no progress on his road to being house trained. It would be different if I saw some improvement, but it seems to be getting worse. Take him outside for 30 mins and he comes straight inside and goes on a rug... Had to vent, could use some pointers.

crate him...any time you take him out, bring him directly outside. as he pisses or schits outside say "good doing your business!" or the like. anytime he does it inside say "you dumb piece of chit muthaeffa" and smack him one.

This.
A proper size kennel cage will end your housetraining woes.

Orrrr, bring in dirt and plant grass or lay sod in the house.
Put all the stuff dog likes peeing on outside.

oh and dont let your wife coddle him. if you can get her to stay out of it for 1 week, your problem will be solved. it is NOT okay for him to do this and i guarantee he wont do it in the crate where he sleeps. if he is doing it in your space (anywhere inside the house and outside the crate) then it is totally unacceptable. crate him and make sure to take him directly outside a few times a day at least.

But seriously.. that behavior is unacceptable and CAN be changed.

I'm no expert but did a simple Google search on housebreaking a puppy and was successful pretty quickly.. like in 3 days. Do some research. Figure out which regime you can commit to .. 100 percent... and stick with it. Take vacation days or sick days from work if you have to because this is important and requires dedication. How much depends on your dog but more on your commitment to see it through.

Just remember, they are dying to please you and make you happy. Rewarding good behavior goes WAY further than punishing bad behavior.

Good luck man!

Thanks guys. We have tried the crate. He just goes in it anyways...last time we did it there was 4 piles of schit in it from one day at work. This went on for a week. Also have taken up 90% of our rigs including a very nice area rug that is now destroyed. I have grown fond of him and he is a sweet little dog. Just don't have a lot of time to work with him. But we do take him out every chance we get while we're home.

how large is the crate? how much do you feed him and how often? if you dont have any time to work with him then why did you get him? your dog takes 4 schits in the time you are at work!?!!?!? how long are you leaving him?

Have you considered the possibly that this is retribution for giving him a name like Tunechi?

I hadn't thought of that.

have you considered the possibility that you do not like the name Tunechi because Tunechi Tazawa and the Red Sox just beat the Tigers and then won the World Series??

I didn't know that's what that guy's name is. I just thought Tunechi was a super queer name for a dog.

:lol3: I haven't made a connection just yet, but I assume its a possibility.
Crate size- it is my labs large in size crate that I use for transporting him during season so it is plenty big for a Yorkie.
Feeding- we feed him a half a cup of food every morning which is the recommended serving per day.
Work schedule- I work from 8-5, leave before my wife and get home after my wife. I try to come home everyday on my lunch to let him out.
Purchase explanatory- my wife has been dying for a Yorkie for 2 years now, and they had 2 cheaply priced at our local fair so I pulled the trigger. All of my experiences of house training have been with labs and it has always been cake to get them up to speed. Even with a full time job
# deuces- yesir, 4 times a day....and he might weigh in at 3lbs

tell your wife to stay out of it for just one week and the problem will be solved...otherwise, it sounds like youre screwed...and those little bastards live forever...but listen, man...i cant keep giving advice to a Yorkie because that is a serious honey hole point reduction.

that dog needs a small crate so where if it schits or pisses it is forced to lay in it. that is the answer to your question. whether or not the wife will go along with it is your problem. now i need to post some boobies up.
