Nitro/sportsman source?

Postby BBK » Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:11 pm

Anyone know of any place selling nitros or sportsmans in 3" 1 1/4 or even 2 3/4" 1 1/4 that has #2 shot in stock? I want a case, but everything I've found is sold out or $200 a case. I'll shoot goose loads at ducks before I pay $20 for a box of steel.
Why do I shoot 3.5" for geese? Because they don't make a 4" yet!

Rogers has the fasteel for $144.99 for 3" 1 1/4. That is actually the load I was thinking about going with if I couldn't find any remmys (I want remington for the hulls! I already have hundreds of cheddite). But if I cant find the remington 1 1/4 I'll have to decide between the 1 1/8 nitros or the fasteel 1 1/4.

Thanks! I ordered a box (yes 1 box) of a load I've been wanting to try with the free shipping code. Saved me some money vs buying it local.

Hesitant on buying the sportsmans for $13.60.. if I can talk myself into it in the next 4 hours I'll do it. But the nitro 2 3/4 1 1/8 are starting to call my name, 10gaokie is talking me into it :lol3:

oops found these but they are nitro's and quite bit higher in price... those sportsman will work for ya in the field and they do reload perty good too just that the hulls will not load up as many times as the green hulls before they split from being reloaded at the crimp(spliting).

Ended up buying some 2.75" 1 1/8 #2's in the nitro line today. We'll see how they do, should kill just fine over decoys.

they do work great the 23/4 nitro steel loads, i have sold alot of the nitro steel loads. i personally have shot that load they pattern great. have killed alot of honkers over dekes with the little 23/4 loads with no problems at all.

btw the way those hulls make for some very good hulls for reloading steel loads, that pattern just as good as the factory loads!!!

I feel slightly sorry for a man who has never patterned his gun, who has no idea how far his chosen load will retain killing penetration. But I'm extremely sorry for the ducks he shoots at beyond the killing range of his gun and load - Bob Brister

That's what I'm shooting. Been doing pretty well with them. They kill just fine over decoys, see no difference between them and 3" 1 1/4.
