What kind of ducks or geese did you bag

Postby lonewolf » Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:50 am

Hey guys, I was thinking it would be neat if everyone posted what species of ducks or geese were taken this year. I personally shot all three species of teal, wigeon, gadwall, mottled, pintail, shovler, Fulvous whistling duck, redhead, lesser scaup, ring-necked, bufflehead, ruddy duck, hooded merganser, snow goose, white fronted goose, ross' goose, and a sandhill crane. Where I live we do not get mallards, but we definitely have a variety of ducks.
Here's to us and those like us, There's damn few of us left.

More than 75% of the world population of redheads winter in the greater Laguna Madre (texas bay system).

roscoe, to tell you the truth I would completely give up all those other ducks I shoot (except the mallards) to see or shoot a black every time out. Man those birds are cool!

I want to go hunting with y'all. We just can't get much in these little beaver ponds in GA. We get lots of woodies, though. With a limit of only 2 it takes quite a few hunts to get up a mess of them. That said, 10-12 woodies, 1 bufflehead (on the lake), 4 mallards (MS and lake), 1 greenwing teal (MS) :salude:
If the hunting is cold, luckily so is the beer!

Got in one more unexpected hunt, so add a couple more woodies and 2 Canadas to the pile.
