Todays Hunt 11/13

Postby quigby979 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 1:44 pm

Well it was a beautiful morning. There was a flurry of shooting for about 15 minutes after LST. Then complete stillness. I had one ruddy duck sitting in the decoys but that was it. I did not take him. One teal buzzed by just as the sunrise climbed and I saluted with 2 shots.....missed. I took both dogs and walked some weed patches for Mr. Ringneck but did not find him. Their was not even a breeze for the dogs to scent a bird. But they enjoyed it and it was still hunting. Very few hunters this morning. And even fewer ducks.

Were you in the grasslands?
not surprising no one was there....

From November 6th through the 10th, 852 hunters killed 592 ducks in the grasslands for an average of 0.69.

Coot has been the #1 bird on a shoot day at San Luis and twice at Kesterson as the #1 and #2 bird.
Snipe was number two last Saturday at Salt slough, and Ruddy duck was #2 bird at gadwall. Not to mention the most occurring #1 bird and #2 bird has been the Spoony, where it was the #1 bird 37% or the #1 or the #2 bird 55% of the time.

I think a lot of people can say its the worst it has ever been in a long time.

While there are mallards getting killed, the days when it was the #1 bird being killed, there were and avg of 16.5 birds killed on that refuge that entire day. When its the #1 or the #2 bird the average number of birds being killed is 13.4. That's the total bird count, not just the mallards so on average it could be that when mallards are the #1 bird, the least amount of them being killed is in the range from 9-15 mallards or as the #1 or #2, 7-12 mallards. It's unreal how bad it is out there.

I was at Mendota AC, I am driving toward Los Banos now on a exploring mission. I have a ressi there next Saturday and I know very little about the place. I really doubt I am going to learn where the birds are because their still up north. Hopefully by the 23rd things will change.

Calling attention to personal attacks and private message bullying is now defined as crying and whining, got it!

There he is, hook line and sinker!

I was talking about SBAG but this will work out just fine!

Please, I never had to report you, nor will I. It's all fun and games. You get yourself banned and it's entertaining each time it goes down.
I just have to wait for the next PM in my mailbox from someone with 1 or 2 posts. Looks like you had fun in Canada.

No hating or name calling here. Everyone knows you are the mallard king of the grasslands and if they forget, I'm sure someone will remind them. Glad to see you are still "getting it done" whatever that means.

PS Did you see that the 27th is up? I know how you love being reminded of it...

Saying those types of things only serves one purpose and usually that purpose is to make that person saying those types of things feel better about themselves by putting others down...

I saw the 27th was up and just laughed....

Canada was and is great and is an amazing place for those who have never hunted there they need to go...

As far as king of the glands I have never ever once said anything like that nor have I ever posted pics or bragged about the number of ducks shot on any given day..

All is good and not going to get into any type of hassle with anyone anymore as those people simply aren't worth my time and or the effort and they simply will never "get it"..

Keep having fun and enjoy the great outdoors....
