$80,000 Duck Commander Call

I couldn't find a post relating to this story. Good cause. Looks like they will rake in a lot of money.

I read in the description, that the call being auctioned off, is the 1,000,000 call built in 2013. Si musta been busy making all those reeds.

So let's say that was 1,000,000 reeds, then lets say (conservatively) that half of their calls are double-reed calls, so that means 1,500,000 reeds over a 10 month period (through the end of OCT)....that is 150,000 reeds/month. lets say the average month has 20 working days...that comes out to 7500 reed/day. the average working day for Joe Employee is 8hrs, so that means 937 reeds/hour, or roughly 16 reeds/minute....

SO...if Si works 8 FULL hours every weekday he'd have to pump out 1 reed EVERY 3.75 seconds....and again, that's being conservative that only half the calls going out of DC are double reeds

They've been in business a lot longer than a year.

I live in the same parish as them, and I don't know one hunter who blows their call.
My lab died, and no one on Duckhuntingchat even cared.

That's because the people buying them are TV watchers, not hunters.

How many duck hunters are there in the US if they are selling a million calls a year. In that case, everyone on here has bought at least a dozen or so :lol3:

Well over a million duck hunters, and they have more than one call. Plus I'd bet they sell quite a few beyond the US.

Wait a minute! I've got a commander classic that I've had about 8 to 10 years that I use. It doesn't matter though, because I suck at all my calls anyway.

Totally bogus, first off it says unopened and the pic? Yea it's open. No identities on the bidders .Probably DC. High bid is retracted,as all will be.

I have never owned one. I'm not a fan of the calls, but the show is good when Si or Phil are on. Phil is a man who knows what life is about.
