Hovey, that thing is effin bad ass. Not quite as roomy as it was when we hunted out of it last year, but a whole lot better for hiding it. Im looking forward to seeing it in person.

You can't put a price on a good friend. He knows where you've gone and where you been, and when times are tough you know he'll always be around; and we won't go home till the sun comes up and the bottle goes down.

If they're dumb enough to be lured in by plastic you're really just doing them a favor.

Know your target before you pull the trigger.

you do not hide them....... its funny how everyone asks that question.

Where i am at it is more a matter of no other way to get to where the ducks are. You can't walk you cant drive and even a mud boat can not make it. There are stands of trees and other tall brush scatterd around and i just stuff the boat away from where i setup the hybrids and paddle/walk back to them.

I've been hunting a A.A. Widgeon with a 9.9 long tail for the last 6 years. Great boat for hiding but very slow. I found this hull right before early Teal season and snapped it up. It hides as well as my Widgeon did but is far faster and floats in ankle deep water. It's 13'6" and 64" wide.
Image
Next was to sand it down and apply 3 coats of Gator Glide.
Image
By then I had recieved my Copperhead 18hp surface drive.
Image
Next was to find a trailer that would fit a wide low hull like that. Found one in Orlando that was almost perfect.
Image
Took it for a test drive and was very impressed. 25 mph and runs through milk shake. Hides as well too.

Still going to camo and have since installed LED interior light, a Golight, switch panel and bilge pump.
It hunted great this year and next should be better!

Here is a pic of my 1970 Glastron. I have since finished it but do not have any pics. It has a 1974 Merc 50 on it.

Image

Here is my 16' alum boat. It has a 25hp on it.
Image

I have since gone back to using real weeds on it as the fake stuff only lasts 3 years even when covered  The grass that I used now had been on an old blind for 10+ years with no signs of coming off. An old timer told me that the grass looked like wild hay. I will try to get a pic of it this next fall as the boat is covered and not getting uncovered till fall hunting season. I also have a canoe that I picked up free from a buddy that was going to scrap it :grooving:

Here is a pic that shows the grass a little.

Love working on boats. Have plans for a hy-bred that I am hoping to start in the near future.
