So we have no water to hold the birds lows had been in the teens until night befor last and last night got down to 10° its Now snowing and accordingto noaa weather tonight is supposed to be cold again sSaturday Has a low of 5 and sunday has a low of 9. Im wondering if since what little water we have is frozen except the rivers if the big push of birds we have been waitingfor are just going to fly right on past us whats your thoughts.
Weve gotten down to -20 last night and the birds are still here and seems to be even more on the move today. if they can find open water and feed they should stick around even if it is the river.
Looks like the weather should be getting back to normal by the end of the week with rain/showers starting on Thursday. Birds coming in...water on its way, the second half of the season will start picking up.
I'm done waterfowl hunting. Wickiup is iced, Summer lake is iced, Deschutes is iced. If I hunt any bird it will be chukar, But the dog has arthritis in his feet and has decided he is a yard dog. Cougar hunting Is where I'll be spending most hunt days.
