Meat Rack

Postby AR Dave » Sat Dec 07, 2013 4:21 pm

I'm going to put up a rack to take pics in front of - looking for advice on what kind of hangers to use. Hooks, Double Nails, anyone know a slick way to do this?

I don't see how this is working?

Ha ha I thought you'd see that ... doing good! I borrowed those ^ pictures, from the Arkansas Thread, as examples. I've been laying mine on the ground, hanging off the 4 wheeler, upside down canoe, tailgate of pickup trucks (those are the worst). I'm going to put ours up where I took this picture, with our Cypress Swamp in the background.

Looks like the birds' nostrils are pushed onto the nail heads.

This particular hanging board only needs to hold about 40 ducks. Think I'll get a board (maybe old barn wood or a Beaver Stick) and experiment over the next few days, with different hooks etc... Anyone hang the ducks upside down? Could screw in two little hooks just big enough to go around a each leg. Perhaps we'll just hold the board of ducks up for a while.

I don't know why I try to make things so hard

Hanging from the legs causes the wings to fall open - So this is what I ended up with.
Simple as taking a chainsaw and cutting a groove....

That is a hell of an idea. Couple fence post in the ground and your set. I like your idea of doing it at your swamp. Better than having your house in the background.

SWEET!!!!

Think you could load a couple of chicken trucks with a few of those, and release them down this way?

Three boards, cut/slotted the width of my trailer, should hold 48 ducks. 41 Gadwall, 4 Teal, 2 Mallards, and 1 Woodie
Make each board to hold 18 ducks (3 limits).

Or the motorcycle thread just above this one, either way....

But maybe that's what you're hanging your birds on this year, in that case, go for it!

You don't need all that fancy stuff to show off all of your birds. Couple of saw horses and a piece of plywood will work just fine.

If you are going to fix it at least fix it right.

I've been working with paracord - just about got my lanyard style figured out. Remember the fish stringers last year? I'm making matching lanyard / duck totes, with drops, stringer style. Each end has a quick connect, so we can attach for picture taking.

I don't kill enough birds to have a meat rack. Maybe a couple nails would do it
