Prayers of the People

Postby gracenjohn » Wed Jun 13, 2007 7:36 am

Ok all, every Sunday we have a list of folks we pray for by name, so why not have our own devotional here? I think if you can post up once, and then edit your own post when you want to add or take someone off the list, this could work without having to scroll through too many pages. Here goes.

How about for Greg who is a Mod here at DHC, and his family? His wife, Mom, and Mom in Law are all dealing with serious health challenges, and I bet Greg is stressed out.

Justin, who is a best friend of a friend of mine who has brain cancer. And his wife and 2 toddlers.

For Steve and Rod who are friends of mine that are batting cancer for last 2 years.

For Carla a friend of mine scheduled for surgery next week. every thing went well and it was benign

Added 9/18 For Harold who is an aquaintance of mine who is undergoing brain surgery for a tumor on Wed, and for his wife and 3 kids.

For Lorrie Pearo who is going through her second, and final bout with cancer. She's been an inspiration in our business. Had her voicebox removed on the first round and still managed to touch lives, without words. -Chad

The most important thing that I have learned about prayer is that it's most important to pray to be willing and accepting of what God wants. It's obvious what we want, but often it's not what God has for us or our loved ones in the long run. I pray for my desires (and strive that my desires and hopes are righteous), but if what I want is not the outcome, I cannot blame God, I try humble myself to his will like Jesus Christ's example in the Garden of Gethsemane. I belive in the power of prayer and have experienced many wonderful and marvelous things in my life through prayer. Right now I pray for my brother and his family, that God may bless them in their struggles at this time.

Also, for all of those who serve our country, may God bless and protect them that they may return home to their families.

I'd like to pray for Jesus to save all of us! But, I pray for my friends and family, who at this moment would know who God is.
