Chainsaw freeze

Postby wcbm8d » Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:58 am

So i bought a chainsaw to open up a hole to help get the ice eaters going. the chainsaw ran right through 4-5 inches of ice for about 8 feet then froze up. the ice kept the chain locked up until i got it out of the elements. (it was about 7 degrees). Anyone have any tricks/tips for preventing this from happening. Thanks - Cory

mine froze up after i had stopped cutting.... i kind of hit the bar aginst the ice and tried to slide the chain on the bar by holding it against ice edge and pushing. i got it lose and then didn't stop til i was done cutting.

start with a dry chain, warm up the saw and go like hell until you're done.
