Yes it's on page 10 of the waterfowl booklet you can download under seasons and bag limits. Amelia is only open on opening day, Saturday and Wednesday.

He's right, only Wednesday and Saturday. Hunted there quite a few times.

I used to hunt there a lot when I lived in Powhatan.

Thanks for clearing that up, I couldn't find anything about which days you could hunt online.

No problem they do make it a pain in the ass to find it. Seems like they could just put it in the rules.

I live in powhatan bolt. Many ducks there when you hunted? When I first started it would be nothing to see 100-200 ring necks and mallards every morning. Last year it was only a handful of ducks. Not worth going.

The Swamp would hold pretty good numbers but the small lake had nothing and the large lake was hit or miss. The Swamp was great just a long walk and you need a dog. I've done it without a dog and you are very limited with where you could set up. The problem was the Swamp would freeze over early but I guess that shouldn't be a problem this year. This time of year I always headed to lake Anna pretty good numbers on the main channel around the island's duck's and geese.

Watch out, duckin will throw rocks at you if he spots you on Anna! I've always gone to the big lake at Amelia. Got sick of having to get there at 3:30 to get the "good" spot for a duck or two.

Would you think it would be worth a hour ride to try it? I wouldn't mind if I could get a shot or two

Seriously, all bidness, no joking.

Anna is a wasteland right now. I was off all of last week and planned to hunt Anna at least one day. Never even hooked the boat up. Ghost town. I know where the birds went. It's a private swamp. It's absolutely black with birds. No hunting allowed.

Skimer, I haven't been to Amelia this year. We've had lots of rain and warm temps so my guess would be you might see a dozen ducks. And getting them to come in isn't the easiest thing to do at that place.

shame on ya , accusing an old man of throwin rocks. anna dont have any ducks due to the sterile shorelines and lack of food. although if you sit next to a certain boathouse with a mechanical corn slinger mounted to it you might see a duck or 30

They put a bunch of grass carp in the big lake at Amelia, noticed a lot less vegetation in the water last season. That's my guess as to why the ducks stopped coming. So lack of food would be my guess at Amelia, same as Anna.
