Woody for the bench

Postby Duck Nasty » Sat Jan 25, 2014 7:53 pm

We'll last day of the season and got a beautiful pair of woodys today. I'm going to do a standing mount on it. There are tons of woodys out here but I'm usually calling and letting other people shoot and this was the best drake I got all season what do you guys think of the bird good specimen for the wall. I haven't ever been a big wood duck hunter so I'm not to familiar with the common give always on a great bird besides how special it is to me. Thanks in advance. This will be my first wood duck mount as well.

I just got done doing a dead mount on a black duck and don't have a sitting bird and I think that is the best way to show the elegance of a woody. Plus I need the practice

The drake has a nice late season crown :clapping:

Do them with a wood duck box. I always put the drake on top like he is about to pitch off and have the hen flying out of the box.
