May be relocating to the Tampa area. What areas should I look at for homes/schools that are safe? I've only been there once and didnt have much time to check out all the areas.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Carrollwood and Lutz are nice and relatively inexpensive. Anything east of 275 is not so nice. Temple Terrace has some nicer hoods and some not so nice.

Standard rule of thumb in any city is to avoid the "south side of town" lol

Second what claimer said on Carollwood. I live in Lutz and love it. Brandon isn't a bad option either depending on where you will work. Anywhere near downtown Tampa isn't too good unless your talking South Tampa and that's too yuppified for me. Odessa is really nice lots of land but pretty pricey. Areas around the Citrus Park area are ok too. Welcome to Tampa, it is a very odd place, but has been my home my whole life lol.

Also like to add that Oldsmar and Westchase area are pretty nice too.
