the diffrence

Postby Ducks » Thu Jun 09, 2005 6:35 pm

The diffrence in callin for real and callin for the public is in a world of its own! I preach this my lord folks,. learn the scound of a real Duck. I mimick this to the best Of my ability,Most of all you don`t need a rich n tone call nor a high dollar call, thus once again I preach, get a call and tune it or cut the reeds! I`ll holp any way I can reach me and lets call in some ducks. But for ever more don`t spend your money keeping up with the cround its a gosh damm gimmic!

Dang "ducks" I have wasted thousands. I feel like such a sheep, a fool, a trendy. Where were you all those years ago. No one has ever said that to me before.

Shrp..sent ya a few files of me and my DOA. i hope i don't devalue the call. LOL!!! (bret, you may want to censor this....)

I will mention that my wife was on the phone with my mother-in-law when i was doing this...so i didn't really cut loose. in fact, you can tell on some of the calling that i was cutting it short and trying not to lean on it while still making some sort of duck sound.

in short, i can do better...i'll get some up later when i am in the house alone.

BOY....... sounds like duck talk to me. Don't be so humble SP you make that call sound good. You can call in my blind with me anytime.:salude:

just for kicks if you want to play with another sound on that call try tightening your throat some in the middle of a note, and or push your tongue forward in your mouth during your note. That call will cajun squeal real well if you can learn to control it.

Enjoy,

thanks for the compliment! :salude:

would you mind emailing me a sound file of that cajun squeal..i think i know what you mean, but i've never heard it blown. i find it easier when i actually have a sound in my head when i am trying to learn a new call.

been workin on several things. I met with worknem a while back and he gave me a lot of help. I have been working on running some strings of quacks together and trying to sound like a duck. Also trying out some different words to use. Different ones are easier for me. Then i like to work on the ones i'm not so good at, hopefully to someday sound like a couple of ducks. right now the word that is working good for me is Quit. I think i am getting a good soud with that and can run a good 6 or 7 of them out consistently. I think that i am getting some really good feed chatter. I am really comfortable with "shook" can run several notes together mixing up fast and slow and throwin some "goo's" and "Quacks" in it. I think my rollin feed is o.k. for the amount of time i've been doing it. I like tuk-ah tuk-ah. also mixing in some quacks. and different speeds.

I take my dog out to a local resivour everynight to train, when we are done we walk for about 45 min around the lake and i practice with my call. So far i havn't had any mallards land on my head. :toofunny: The other day i did get one to yell back at me. but i think she was just tellin me to be quite.

Ace- since 'quit' works good for ya, try using 'dwit' (think "do it") and see how that goes.

Yah, I have been adding Dwit also, I like it a lot. Rel got me going with Coot. That has also helped. I just wasn't getting it with Hut.

contests are a good place..also, any high pressured public hunting land will usually have some calling going on.

i think Shrp's site is down at the moment. Hopefully soon he can have it back in running order.
