" O praise ye the Lord! Thanksgiving and song. To Him be outpoured all ages along! For love in creation, for Heaven restored, For grace of salvation, O praise ye the Lord! "

Psalms 150

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Praise the LORD. Praise Him for the blessings and trials in your life. I think the word Awesome is a word that should ONLY be used to describe GOD. Not some great food, a great game, nor how people use the word today to describe anything that is cool or great. This word should be only reserved for GOD.

Praise GOD's for His greatness. This chapter tells us that we are to praise GOD everywhere. We are to praise Him from the sanctuary on earth to His heavenly creation. Why should we praise GOD, because of His mighty acts and His inherent greatness.

David shows us how we can praise Him with every instrument we can offer with our GOD given talents of creativity and artistry. Some Christians today complain about the music that is played at churches today, the guitar and drums are to loud, don't like that song, only want old hymns and some won't even stand to sing during the songs. They only stand when a hymn is played. Might have to explain that one someday. It says to praise Him with trumpets, not really a quite instrument. We can also use harps. A lot of use think we should not dance, but the Bible tells us right here that we are to praise Him with timbrel (similar to a tambourines) and to dance.

I like the next verse, David tells us to praise Him with a loud cymbals. That means loudly praise GOD even with drums and cymbals. Let's hear them drums and cymbals at church. Do you sing softly at church or boldly and loud unto Him. Get them hands up and praise ye the LORD.
Verse 6 tells us who should praise GOD. Everything that breathes. This is a call to praise. The hymn is certainly prophetic of a day when every creature will in fact bow in praise to the Almighty GOD. No matter what is going on in your life today, if you are breathing today, praise HIM with every breath you have. Our GOD is an Awesome GOD, PRAISE YE THE LORD!

" Our God is an Awesome God. He Reigns from heaven above. With Wisdom pow'r and love. Our God is an Awesome God!"
