SLEEPER SHELLS

Postby xtrema13 » Tue Feb 25, 2014 12:07 pm

What is everyone's sleeper shells? I am planning on stocking up on a couple dozen this offseason. I'm thinking Final Approach? But I have hard core right now an I don't think they look all that bad. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Big foots or Dakotas.
If it flies it dies, if it just sits there it dies too.

I have been using the same sleeper shells since 1989. I saw 36 of them for sale on Craigslist for $2.50 each a couple weeks ago. They still work well. The good part is they will work as feeder heads also.

G&h or big foots. I don't own any sleepers personally. But both of those companies have great paint adhesion.

1. Bigfoot or Dakotas because they are one piece design. No assembly time in the mornings. Stack like a charm.
2. GHG. Two piece design (shell and head) and not easily stackable.

GHG LS. A buddy and I have 13 dozen. ONE Piece, stackable. Quick to put out, quick to pick up. With our numbers I see no reason to go to oversized dekes.

I have GHG OS but if I add more they will be Bigfoot. I like that they have no open area under the tail for the wind to catch and send flipping so all your sleepers don't have to be set facing into the wind.

^ agree, mainly see this when hunting ice and a high wind. I have never had one flip over but I have had them go blowing away which i could see happening to any decoy set on ice regardless of openings.

GHG has a once piece life size as well as the two piece oversize. I do not like two piece, last thing i wanna do when its cold out is put heads on.

I like my ghg ffds, dont really much care for the look of the dakotas, and I also like the bigfoots. I have never had good luck with FAs paint so I tend to stay away from that brand, maybe they have gotten better.
