Browning Silver recoil pad

Postby JWG » Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:00 am

Looking to put a different pad on and was wondering if any of Brownings other pads would fit or if anyone would have another recommendation

What's wrong with the stock one? I'm think Limbsaver makes one.

LimbSaver: there are no better recoil pads made....if you are looking to attenuate recoil.
(The are pads that look nicer and pads that last longer, but none that work better)

JWG.....you didn't mention whether stock is wood or composite......so don't know if you're looking to shorten/lengthen LOP or just get a different appearance or recoil experience.
I replaced the pad on my composite Silver to shorten LOP. I used a Pachmayer SC model 1" pad and modified the solid backing plate with a Dremel allowing it to fit inside the stock as the factory pad did, then ground with a belt sander to fit the lines of the stock. The half inch less LOP made a big, better shooting difference for me.
