New to the forum, state and duck hunting.

There is a Duck's Unlimited oyster roast in Concord, NC which is being held at the Bass Pro Shop on Saturday, October 6. Is there anyone (on this forum) planning to attend?

I got a post card in the mail from my local chapter about its upcoming banquet this year. I was shocked to the price of tickets
$300.00 single , $600.00 couple come to find out its a sponsor only event this year. What a crock of BS, seems this chapter wants to have a banquet for their "exclusive crowd" by pricing out the "avarage joe". To be honest I''m not surprised with this crowd seems all the sponsors and the hunting club buddies always win the better prizes year in and year out. Well for this chapter all I will says is go ahead and have your "in crowd" banquet, you can kiss my ass.

Im not speaking for all chapters but with our chapter we have tossed around the idea of all sponsor banquets. QU does it here in Goldsboro like that. The reason we were thinking about it is we sell out and so many people want to come to drink and eat and not spend any money. We thought it would thin out the cheapos. We turned the idea down but that may be the reason behind it. But our standard sponsor is 300 and that is for a couple. Our 600 corporate gets 8 people in the door. If its 600 a couple that is NUTS. lol

DU banquets in NORTH CAROLINA 2013

Postby Joe Guide » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:25 am

Wilmington, N.C. Convention Center night of 23d of FEBURARY 2013- door opens at 6PM. (coctail hour begins at 1830)...Lets see how this years group runs this program.

I certainly enjoyed it when it was as the old "Wilmington Country Club" as it was more elegant surroundings...with waiters in tuxs and there was always enough ticket girls to get your attention & $$.

Get your "early bird tickets"...dinner and banquet limited to 300. Got mine already. JUST GOOGLE "DU Banquet/Dinner 2013 Wilmington, NC" you'll get the data and get your tickets online" Easy breezy...
I'll be there...with about 200 or so friends and locals...military and people from all walks of life for some Waterfowling excitement and good friends and food.

Regards,

JOE GUIDE
