Invite a Service Member to your Duck Blind

Postby MIKE J. » Sat Mar 08, 2008 11:02 pm

Here's the place for DHC members to post an invite to host a military service member or veteran for a day in the field. It doesn't have to be limited to just waterfowling! Turkey hunting, Fishing, Sporting events are just a few examples to name a few. A simple home cooked meal away from the hustle and bustle of the base has always been a favorite, especially around the holidays.

If your interested, post the details with your location and what you would like to offer as a Morale Booster to our members in uniform. All offers are greatly appreciated.

Military members should respond to offers via PM.

I am in Central Illinois, if you are interested in a hunt let me know. Usually hunt ducks so waders and own gear would be needed...

fellow marines and other service members in the Cherry Point/ Camp Lejune area your more than welcome to tag along with me any time that you'd like. i do it all. Salt and Fresh water fish, hunt ducks, geese, turkey, some deer, dove, and hopefully a pig here soon. i have a whole lot of gear so if you dont have it let me know and i can probably help ya out with that as well. all you'll need is the required liscense/permits for the occassion. I work nights so i hunt and fish a lot during the mornings in the week and pretty much all day on friday and saturdays. gimme a holler and we'll set something up.

I am always open to going hunting too, Central Fl. duck hunting, and Tampa Bay and off shore fishing. Would be willing to trade a little or just have some company.

Southeast La Hunt

Postby jlemie1 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 9:12 pm

I'll gladly take a couple guys duck hunting or even deer hunting in La. I know how it is to get stationed somewhere where you don't have any connections or the hunting isn't that great. I'd love to go on an archery deer hunt somewhere as well.

Hello all! First let me start by saying us military guys really appreciate this type of support. Second, I'd like to add as a veteran of afghanistan and Iraq both I know exactly how it is to move to a new location and have no connections when it comes to hunting. I greatly appreciate all you do.

I really dont have a whole lot to offer back, but for you louisiana boys on here. I would greatly appreciate a spot in the blind down in south Louisiana. I use to be stationed at Ft Polk and use to fish a lot in cameron and use to be awwed over the amount of ducks you see off that hwy on the way in to cameron. So, if you guys have a spot availible let me know and I could possibly return the favor for a hunt up in north louisiana. Thanks for all you guys support.

I as an Active Duty Air Force Member also want to send my graditude to everyone that offers hunts on here for the military. I would love to take a few of you up on your hunts. Hunting is not my passion, its my obsession!!

I would like to trade for a snowgoose/duck hunt somewhere as I could offer a SE Iowa Archery/Gun deer/turkey hunt. As well as a Duck/Goose hunt in Oklahoma.

Thanks again.
