I hadn't ever known about it until a couple of years ago when my Grandfather decided to bring it up. It was one of those things straight out of a movie.

Scatter guns!

Postby binko » Wed Nov 09, 2005 10:48 am

Hi, I am a newbie here, and I am into old sxs's, and restoring them to their original glory. It seems to me like they each have a great story to tell, but nobody is listening, so I am trying to hear what they are saying, and get involved in their past by restoring their long lost pride. I didn't see any doubles pictured here. so I guess I need to ask...is anyone interested in old sxs's?

My Grandfather's old Sears and Roebuck "JC Higgins" that was given to me

And finally, one of my favorites. My Granddad's Stevens model #311. THis is stricly a grouse and pheasant gun. It came into my hands after he passed away in October of 2003. Never got to hunt with him. But he's there when i use it.

I'll post some pics next week when I get some time to get all these guns together and shoot some good pictures. Is there a restriction on file size?

I've been having the same problem myself. I wish I could tell you precisely how to get your photos from DHC.

Thanks so much Trois, I sure wish you could explain what you did to get them to show up, cause I plan to put some more up later. Now to the shooting of them, the only one I have ever shot is the Fox, and it has bagged untold numbers of ducks in the 50 years that I have owned it, a conservative guess would be somewhere over a thousand, but the others are recently acquired and recently restored, so I don't know when I might actually get a chance to shoot them, but I just enjoy looking at'em and trying to visualize some of the hunts they have been on...plenty great stories I imagine!

12 gauge Browning BPS

16 gauge Ranger side by side (probably from the late 1940's) I shot my first duck with the Ranger.

I hope to get a new 12 gauge side by side that I can use for ducks sooner or later.

Can't post pics now.
