Spectacular clip. it should be required viewing for everyone in the country. It's sad to see the media ignore the views of the vast majority of the military, both current and former. I know this brave man's views are the majority in that group, but you'd never know it by watching the news.

Listen DB, this is a bunch of sappy nonsense.

IT's true that US soldiers are doing lots of good things and making huge sacrafices, but that's not the point... sappy "proud to be an American" soundtrack notwithstanding.

There are plenty of places in the world where we could help people who want the same things we want for our cildren and for us. Should we invade Venezuela, North Korea, Sudan...

Why do you get so sappy about helping Iraqi's and then turn a cold shoulder to those less fortunate here at home. Hypocrits!

Answer the question Seabee. Are you a hypocrit or not?

BTW WiscoWaterfowler... Osama's not in Iraq.

Go Packers! miss Favre but Rodgers did fairly well, and that TD pass to Driver that got called back cuz Moll was 5.5 yards downfield was very nice.

I looked at this video the first day it was posted and didn't give it a second thought.

What is the so-called soldier's name?
What company is he from?
When was he in Iraq?

Who? What? Where? When? How?

Think, boys, just think!

His Name is Joe Cook. I did the search so you did not have to. I can't find much more info on him. Why don't you "think" and look it up yourself?

Gee Redline, kinda nasty.

Maybe you could teach us something by sharing how you found out his name. I am not that good at internet research (and lots of computer stuff) and could use some help to get better at it.

BTW: Is "redline" a reference to the suggested max rpm of an engine?

He should not be anonymous in his own video.
To me, it takes the punch out of it.

I know where you want to go with this, so I will go ahead and let the air out of your balloon...

Here's a couple of links that identify him as Joe Cook, the maker of the video...

Injured Iraq War veteran returns to Wauconda
Monday, October 01, 2007 | 6:34 PM
By Paul Meincke

October 1, 2007 (WLS) -- A wounded Iraqi war veteran is getting a hero's homecoming. Army Specialist Joe Cook is one of three brothers from Wauconda who have served in the war.
He was badly wounded when the vehicle he was in was hit by a roadside bomb. Cook arrived at O'Hare airport Monday.
There is a three-star flag on Bob and Melissa Cook's front door, for their three sons in Iraq. Middle son Joe came home Monday.
"As soon as I heard that voice and the way he sounded, I knew he had been hurt and something was wrong, and I said, 'How bad?' He said 'Oh, it's pretty bad.' I said, 'I'm ready, tell me,'" said Bob Cook.

The blast from a roadside bomb had crushed Joe Cook's left leg below the knee. It happened in Baghdad. Five times before, he had felt the concussion from IEDs, but this time the blast was more powerful.

"We are just happy he's coming home. You're never prepared, not when it's your child," said Bob Cook.
Late Monday afternoon, Joe Cook came home after weeks of stateside rehab.

"They're going to have to teach me how to walk without a limp, teach me how to run again. It should be fun," Joe Cook said.
He was captain of his high school cross country team but now will walk now with a prosthesis. His welcome home at the airport is being followed by a welcome home in the village of Wauconda. The village has made it a habit to welcome every combat vet back home.

"We want to make sure that nobody has the experience that our brothers and sisters had coming back from previous wars. We want everyone to feel welcome," police officer Pat Yost said.
Joe Cook said he's relaxed and looking ahead to college.
All three of the Cook brothers enlisted in the Army within six months of each other, and all volunteered for service in Iraq. Their parents say each one of the sons was determined to pursue that choice. And while the parents are extremely excited to have Joe back at home, they still have two sons in Iraq.

So, now that we know about Joe, and his sacrafice, what do you guys think about the way Max Cleland was treated by Rove?
