A-5s in magnum 12, light 12, 16, magnum 20. Grew up with them, but don't hunt with them now.

26 yr old Marine here...I shoot a A-5 like my father, grandpa and his father did (Rem Mod 11). Own a few of 'em, but these are with my original 28" Mag 12 Stalker that my wife gave me when I got my wings (Naval Aviator)...enjoy!

My Dad gave me his 2 3/4" Belgian A-5 when he bought his 3"A5 Stalker the last year they were made. They are both great shooting guns, and he will shoot nothing else!

[quote="IlHunter"]i have another question for you guys. my light 12 says 2 3/4 shells on the barrel but a 3" will fit it in.
they will fit in unfired i suppose, When I was a teen when 3.5 first came out I just had to shoot them out of the old 870. Just had to take off the barrel after each shot..posting.php?mode=quote&f=13&p=635874#

Does anyone know what year Browning started putting interchangeable chokes in the A5?

I have a light and magnum 12ga both Belgian made. The extra barrels are made in japan though. They were my grandfathers and are in pretty close to mint condition. Nice, smooth gun, but i cant hit crap with them.

I have no clue how to post pictures, but I have a few. I have a Rem model 11 12ga. My grandpa gave me that gun as my first 12 ga. in 1982 when I was 12. He won it in a poker game in 1955 at the implement dealership he worked as a part time mechanic along with farming. I also have a sweet 16, A5 12 light, and my hunting gun which is Jap A5 12 mag, 28" barrel with the chokes. The wood is beat up on the Jap gun. I am thinking about getting a new stock and forearm for it to put away when I give it to my son.

One other nice shotgun I received from my grandfather is a trap grade Winchester model 97 that has awesome wood. I have the original bill of sale on as well.

Doing good. I'm not collecting the A5's anymore. I still have more than my share though. Working a lot and staying busy doing the dad thing.

1973 "Sweet Sixteen" recently inherited from my grandfather has less than 50 rounds through her, he/we only shot it 3 times each New Years evening when I was around 9-13 years old other than that never left the case. Plan on letting it see some dove action this year and of course letting my 13 year old son shoot it on New Years Eve.

I also have an A5. It doesn't get used a ton, but on special occations, I'll bring it out. It's super old. Not sure what year. The safety is on the inside front of the trigger guard, which isn't something a modern gun company would ever do :) If anyone has an idea of when they made them that way, let me know. I'd be interested in knowing the age.
