I'm in Virginia, just south of Washington DC. Our first duck and goose sessions were not too good . Not cold enough. Just this week though , we are getting the benefits of a big cold front pushing the birds down from the north. Xmas starts our canada goose season up again. So far at our farm lease we had only high flyers coming off the river and avoiding us no matter how we sweet talked them. We got our Swans though. We draw swan permits from the state and are allowed to hunt one Tundra Swan per permit per year. Lots of fun. Very big bird, like a white B-52 when it hits the ground.
We have more restricted hunting laws here than you guys do. You are left to your ethics, we are controlled to the enth degree by the law. Bag limits, legal hours, 3 shell limit in our shotguns, blind distances down to the inch, licensed blinds. But, can't complain, hehe.
Let us know how the season goes and what its like to hunt Gt Britain.
