Congrats Miles!!

Steel Shot can be a nemesis for alot of folks, just try a few brands and pattern your gun/choke to find out what works best.

I like the Kent Fast Steel myself followed by the federal Xpert loads. all of the "Gucci" high end stuff shoots great too but can break your wallet quickly.

I have tried Black Cloud and it does KILL ducks but the damage is overkill on the birds. (decoying birds inside 30 yards)

Good Luck,

Mike

hit the same spot two days later on friday and got skunked. we had a first time duck hunter with us which could have lead to no birds being dropped cuz he got to take the shots throughout the day which were few and far between. man this gorgeous weather sure is nice, but not good to make ducks dive bomb spreads. probably should have let the area rest another day or two anyways. but we had a good time, and although we couldnt get the fng his first duck i think hes hooked anyways. the paddle back after sunset was amazing too, birds were in the air like swarms of bees, darn sunset as the end of shooting hours why cant it be like deer shooting hours haha

cheers, hope everyone had a nice holiday, miles
