Well since Trey hasn't posted back, I can tell you that it works wonders on the birds. Saw his pictures last year and tried it this year and got my first bluebills and buffies. I have never been diver hunting, new where to find the birds though. Once I saw Trey's settup, I was sure I could figure out how to hunt divers.
Had a chance at my first redhead but got caught up in all the excitement and only took pictures of it thinking he was a bluebill.
Bought a 20X20 shrimp net from a lady near Morehead City. I just roll my net up on the boat, get up wind(current) and throw two anchors out as far as possible to the sides, float down wind and let the net out as I go. Tighten it up on the corners and your set. It you let it out this way and can wade in the water, its much easier to wade then use the boat.http://s1017.photobucket.com/albums/af299/hlg0619/
If you look at the pictures, I've got two nets out in one picture, and on a different hunt only one net out in those pictures.
The two nets tied together, approximately 110 decoys. The one net by itself, only about 50.
