word from the check station was that they had an outstanding local hatch of birds. Now if only the fuel prices can come back to earth, we'll plan another trip for halloween weekend.

Hey I just hunted geese over on some farms south of corvallis today, and man there were a lot of birds out there for this early in the season. Really foggy, called em' right out of the fog.
I took JimboPDX and a buddy from work out hunting on the lower river today. what a great time!! got the "newbies" into some birds and they both hunted like Pros. I'll share a blind with Jimbo anytime. He's got the right attitude and the right sense of humor for duck hunting.
13 birds for 3 hunters..a little short of "limits", but i think we all had a fill of good times, good laughs, and great memories!!
I have officially cleaned the gun for the last time, dried the waders out, and put away all the paraphenallia that has been scattered around the laundry room. This has been a great year.
