We shot 4 mallards 1 drake and 3 hens. I think u might either not see the yellow bill on the left or u think the gadwall is a hen mallard. But we can have 2 hen mallards in our limit. My friend is a beginner hunter but with a great shot and cant identify a mallard from a canvasback.

i went on the youth day. i killed four green heads, a drake wood duck, and a shoveler. for just the start of the season i think it went pretty well. When we left we still had ducks all around us. The boy that went with me also limited out.

Most, if not all sates or an organization within a state will put on a youth only hunting day. During this time adults may bring an interested youth who has never waterfowled before, or a younger hunter who has hunted before out hunting.
Adults accompanying a youth may not shoot a firearm. Instead, they are there to provide wisdom and guidance to newer waterfowl hunters.

Contact your local DNR, Fish and Game department or conservation organization (DU or delta) for more information. Otherwise someone here may be of help to you.
