Shipping Tubes for fishing poles....Help?

Postby DeathDlr7VI » Tue Feb 24, 2009 1:27 pm

Has anyones every shipped a fishing pole before. I am planning on shipping a 6ft 6in pole that doesn't break down.

How did you guys go about it? Shipping quote? Where to get tube? Other products that may have come in a tube which may be used?

Any info would help. Thanks!

 easy, break it in half

I know the products exist because years ago I bought a 1 piece pole from bass pro and they sent it in a cardboard tube. I would check with a sporting goods store and ask if they would know where to get them. If not, go ghetto and buy a couple blue print rolls and duck tape them together.

Go to Bass Pro or Gander Mountain and ask what day they get shipments in, then stop in that day and ask them to give you one. Their rods come in tubes and they would probably have no problem giving you one, they just recycle them anyway. I know there is an extra charge for shipping rods. I forget why, but it costs a little more.
