Coosa River Hunting

Postby AcolemrcU » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:52 pm

Does anyone know if you can hunt anywhere on the Coosa river? I was up there a few weekends ago and saw a ton of greenheads and honkers. I just started thinking a bunch about next season.

Where at on the Coosa? I was on the Coosa near Wetumka and seen Greenheads, Divers, and Woodies everywhere. I was wondering the same thing.

I was up near Dega outside of B'Ham. I'm sure that whole river/lake is covered up in ducks, hopefully someone on here will let us know if anywhere is huntable.

yes you can hunt the coosa river. in fact you can hunt any waterway controlled by the corp of engineers. You must hunt out of a boat, you must be at least a certain distance from houses and roads, and you must be outside of city limits. It is a go other than that. And yes there are ducks, covered up would be an exageration, but if you scout you can find decent numbers of wood ducks and mergansers with some greenheads.
