Specks in southern Indiana?

Postby Jeremy Mapes » Wed Jul 08, 2009 9:19 am

I talked with a guy the other day that says he hunts around Evansville every season and kills tons of Specks. I always thought they were pretty rare in Indiana. Wondered if you guys could comfirm this or not.

Back in the late Feb goose season was the fist time I've seen a Specks up here in the 6 years I've been hunting geese.

I grew up down in Evansville. I can say that I started seeing specks regularly about 6 years ago. Ever since it seems like there numbers have been doubling every year. Expect to see more and more as the years come.
So we probably should have brought our guns.

Me and a buddy shot these birds around the sullivan area 2 years ago... Had a small flock of snows and specks fly over the top of the blind and got a chance to crack a couple... those were the first ive shot in Indiana....
