Alumacraft Waterfowler 16

Postby Canadian Honker » Tue Jul 14, 2009 7:22 am

I am looking at buying a 2009 Alumacraft Waterfowler 16. Does anyone have any experience with Alumacraft and/or their mod V boats, or any opinions for/against this paticular boat?

My bet is that you are going to wish you had gone bigger then a 25 hp outboard. if you were using it for fishing i would say the 25 is fine but. that all welded boat os heav then add a blind a couple guys a dog and gear and the extra hp will really help move the heavier loads

I have a 2004 model with the honda 50 hp 4stroke . I use it as a tender boat for layout hunts on Green Bay I made a boat blind for it and it is a great musky/ walleye boat also. Vinyl floor is great for getting rid of duck blood fish slime and hooks dont get stuck in carpet. Last fall my hunting buddy and I got our limit of divers and decoys packed by 9am and were trolling for muskies by 9:30 That may explain why some of our cripples never resurface on the bay :lol3:

I had one about four years ago with a 40hp on it. I traded for a Sea Ark. Didnt care for the long bow deck but otherwise alumacraft are a nice boat, I fish out of one and the wife's family all run alumacraft, can't complain.

I have one I would like to sell, it's just too heavy for my 25 hp 4stroke merc. I have the paperwork for it. I just bought the 09 off the dealer and paid just over 3500 for it. no trailer or anything. I added two great led lights on the bow and they work awsome. any interest in this one?
