Nice pic! Kills me you CA boys are still out killing birds. We've been completely locked up in ice for almost a month. The land and stretch of river I've hunted for years and for whatever reason never freezes up, sold last year.

I'd love to, man!! Any chance to get out of this frozen hell for a few days to kill birds. I love the beehive state 10 months of the year, but January-Feb are dreary, miserable and cold as a witches heart.

Decided to sleep in and hit the refuge for an afternoon hunt. The feds aren’t allowing any overnight or camping due to covid, gates open at 3am. Can’t tell you what a difference it’s made on the number of guys getting out, so I was pretty sure I’d get one of the ponds I was shooting for. First spot I check, not a soul. Set up and hunker down. Turned out to be one the nicest hunts I’ve had in awhile, just me and my dog and few ducks.

Went under and came up with a boot and a side of salad

Days like that when the stars seem to align are few and far between. Sure is pretty out your way, think our mud holes would bore you both. The beast is looking good, seems like yesterday you brought him home.
