Smaller side for a male for sure at 60lbs but it's gonna be the dog not the weight. How big were the sire and dam?

Congrats!

I think breed standard for males is 64-65 on the low end so he'll probably be there or better. Muscle weighs more than fat too.

Aye Mate,

Plenty large to handle geese. Ye need to be cautious with regard to tides and currents, regardless o' the dog's size.

Good luck with ye new pup.

Cheers,

Rough estimate on adult weight is to multiply weight at 16 weeks X's 2.

That's proven remarkably accurate with mine over the years.

Another such rule of thumb being that their profile at 10 weeks is apt to be much the same as at adulthood.

My 40 pound spaniel handled river current just fine (within reason), probably not something to worry about too much.

Not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

Hope so was hoping for closer to 70 but I will take 60 our migrator goose population has been off the charts last couple of years and runs to feb 15th lots of big cripple honkers in a thick swamp but so far he has shown lots of boldness and perseverance been on chuckers twice so far and has been swimming 3 times with no issues single marks out to 150 yards so I happy thus far ff and formal obedience in 2 months

At almost 7mths he’s right at 55. Are we still looking at around 75 or 80. He looks grown already and I was hoping he’d be on the smaller side. I don’t think he’ll be small by any means.

What was his weight at 4 months? Double that weight and that should give you the best "guesstimate" of adult. Much easier than + or - at seven months!
