It's all in RPMs, When you pull I'll bet you are not in over drive.
I have a 94 4x4 suburban 350 1/2 ton.
I get a solid 18 mpg highway at 70 mph.
Hook the boat up and I have to pull it out of overdrive, Chevys CANT pull in overdrive , it'll knock the tranny before you get to the lake.
Anyway it knocks the gas mileage to 10 and at 70 it's 8...

I got 20mpg when I went to pick up my new trailer. On the way back with the new toy, I dropped to 11. Im guessing 8 to 9 with it loaded. Luckily, I dont have to pull it very far, usually less than one hour. There will be a few 2 hour trips this season as well. Cant wait. Its only money!
