What choke do people prefer with boss ammo? Any input on patterns with a sbe3 would be great. Thanks

Thanks for sharing , those patterns will kill Ducks and most Geese , no doubt !
At the distance you patterns are shot at , you might have more holes in your birds than needed but , dead is dead ,right ?
With the pellets size to match the birds size , the shots density is capable of a few more yards distance but , within the
decoys is a darn good practice . As you can see , the choke constriction you shot these patterns with , could use more
choke for farther away shots but as we all know , staying within your ability really is paramount to conservation !

Good job pattern testing your setup , it pays dividends in the marsh !

Bismuth is better than steel no doubt, hopefully better than steel on teeth, I could have bought a life time supply of bismuth for what my implant cost, steel BB in a goose!

I tried a kicks high flyer invector, full in the 20g citori at 40 yds, and it was terrible, 50% 88/174, 50 hits in inner 21”, 38 in outer ring 8 holes ( 6 1/2” discs) in 30” with 3 in center 21”. Boss #4 3” 1 1/8 oz. no photo, didnt want to waste the time

20 Boss #4 3 1 1/8, 40 yds, Carlson long range Delta Waterfowl, .590. One 6” bowl in center 21” with 3 hits, I rated overall as fair to good. Will repeat today

Mostly looking for patterns with a 12ga. Ordered a set of carlson cremators. Will pattern when I get them. Was less then 50% pattern with kicks high flyer full.

That kicks full would be the same constriction as your factory modified choke

thanks 909, I thought the constriction was more than modified.
That goes along with the poor performance of the 20 g Trulock modified .600 also at 40 yds, with Boss #4 3" 1 1/8 oz, one shot at 80/174 =46%, 50 hits in center 21" and 30 hits in outer ring, 7 of my "6" holes in the 30" pattern, 2 of the holes were in the inner 21" center: second shot was 86/174 = 49% in 30" pattern, 50 hits in center 21", 36 hits in outer ring, 8 of my 6" holes (2 with 3 hits) in the 30", of the 8, 3 were in the center 21" circle.

The Carlson Delta waterfowl long range .590 with the #4 was 103/174 = 59%, 66 in inner 21" and 37 in outer ring. Six holes were in the 30" circle. Two of the 6 " holes" were in center 21' circle. Still looking for a choke for my second barrel.

Bpearl, the 20 yd pattern with the Briley skeet above is actually from an old 12g o/u Browning that I had Briley make chokes for. If you note the calculations the denominator is 246, this is for the Boss #5, 2 3/4" shell. Sorry for the error. This was my bread and butter choke jump shooting this year.
