Guide recommendation for Lake Guntersville

Postby Duck hunter86 » Mon Dec 25, 2017 11:22 am

I’m looking to try the lake out. Any recommendations on a guide? Thanks.

Why would you not just drive to an actual flyway and hunt with an actual guide? I wouldn't trust anyone in Alabama who claims to be a waterfowl guide. Not enough birds to keep anyone legitimately employed.

I figured Lake Guntersville would be a good spot. I was also thinking Lake Seminole in Ga . That may be the better option.

Do you know where the flyways are? Why in the world would you also want to hunt Georgia and PAY for it? For the time and money, go to Louisiana or something on a major flyway.

You will enjoy that much more. "Loaded" in Georgia or Alabama is a stale pond in the flyway

I glassed Seminole this evening and seen one raft of coots. I've heard a couple guys say they seen some can's out there but I haven't seen them yet this year.

THANKS guys. Mississippi looks to be jam up. I’m also looking at a place in Louisiana. It seems well worth the expense.

You'll be glad you didn't have some hack take your money in Alabama or Georgia. If you've never hunted the flyway, just seeing the high fliers alone is worth going once.

Old post I know but if youre still looking for a guide on guntersville hit up Basswhackers guide service. They will get you on your canvasback there. Will not be an issue.... Also on lake seminle hit up Justin Driscoll. He kills a lot of cans on seminole.

GVille is good hunting if you have a boat. other than that you may get one or two but be prepared to stay for a bit.
