Rick, how have you done with the specklebellies this season?
I haven’t killed any yet, chomping at the bit but the places I used to kill
Them haven’t had any yet. Seems like the last 2-3 years they have nearly disappeared from where I used to have a few good hunts per year

When I moved here in '83, the VFD down the road was touted as "the statistical center of the greatest concentration of wintering white-front geese on the continent". That's long over, as half of the fields they once filled are now dotted with crawfish traps, and crawfishermen will crank up the butane cannons if a goose is seen flying over their "crop," The other half have guns.

Things change...
