random bragging thread

Postby razorrt5 » Sun May 24, 2020 6:35 am

Did the thing, has less recoil Than expected... did pick up the only ammo I could find and it wouldn’t cycle well, not sure if it was the ammo, the magazine or the trigger and didn’t have the time to troubleshoot it so I’m gonna go out today and try again, assuming it’s user error... I really like it and Dunham’s was having a memorial weekend sale so it was another 50$ off! Woot woot

1911’s can be prone to feed issues from letting your wrist break too much. Might also just need to be broke in a little. Sweet looking gun, congratulations.

Most likely it’s a magazine issue. Purchase a “decent” magazine if you only received one. If that isn’t it, check the feeding ramp for any burrs. Their isn’t much more involved beside the ammo, buy a different box from another store or online. Different lot run for a better test to see if it is indeed the ammo.

Id start with the magazine.

After doing some YouTubing and searching i found 2 issues. 1 the dang spring for the magazine needs to be cut or broken in, its so tight I have to press the magazine release to get the magazine in and it’s super tight.... but the main issue is the trigger isn’t resetting, total explains what I was experiencing yesterday and as I’m playing with the trigger this morning it’s not resetting so looks like I’m gonna need to get it back to them for warranty work. I still like it and know this crap happens but it’s annoying when you get a new toy and have to give it up so quick lol... oh well at least it’s not a shotgun issue a week before opener lol

Disassembled it and reassembled seems to be working now but I got a hunch it’s all connected to this magazine release, cause it’s so tight I think it might be pinching the trigger assembly in the well and preventing it from resetting

Is there a set screw to adjust the travel in the trigger? Maybe it needs to be backed out a full twist and retested.

Take a couple deep breaths before typing the email. No sense needing to replace a keyboard this week.

Spent a couple hours walking in the woods and only found one morel. Spent 5 min walking the ditch next to my mailbox and found enough asparagus for supper. Think I will spend my time in the ditches instead of the woods.

Yea I fiddled with the set screw as well, no luck unfortunately. Don’t worry Wally, although it sucks i recognize this is part of buying something sometimes.... now if they don’t provide good service for something that’s their problem then I’m gonna be mashing that keyboard lol

That's because I was facing that way. A picture facing the other way would have you looking thru the headlines about a possible tornado touchdown in my garage.

It's getting there though. I think I should have most the crap off the floor tomorrow.

Shout out to my wife for helping me do all this too.
