pj wrote:PP's really interest me. I heard like 90% plus of them are hunting dogs so it seems like a can't miss. I follow the Rock Creek kennel on social media. Mostly because I thought it was bad ass that they run them like sled dogs in the winter.

I think I am stuck on labs for a bit, because that is what my wife likes.

If I had to get a wirehair I would get a Griffon though. My great Uncle had one that was a National Champion I hunted behind when it was older, 10 + years. I was just a kid then but it was a great dog.

Those wirehairs do tear up the CRP. My buddy has a two year old slick hair in Dakota that is one of the best pheasant dogs I have seen. Not super great at waterfowl though.

Pudelpointers are a cool story. You're right that the vast majority are only sent to hunting homes, but unfortunately as they get more popular we're getting crummy breeders popping up. I would actually say that MN is a hotbed for PP in general right now. I won't speak poorly about breeders on the forum, but if you ever want insight feel free to reach out. I'm not a judge, but I've had the chance to walk the field with lots of PPs from MN kennels.

Griffons take more work finding a good kennel. AKC has really done a number on their hunting lines, but there's some out there.

If you had a higher res image of that story I'd love to read it. I took my Draht to Ohio this past September and got a Versatile Champion on her (the highest test NAVHDA offers).

random bragging thread

Postby razorrt5 » Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:05 pm

I seem to have a problem.... picked this guy up (9mm) ordered my daughters shotgun (viper G2 youth .410) and in hot pursuit of a 300blackout AR pistol. I almost feel bad for my wife lol

Not bragging about the whole roof cause I was cutting short sheets out of long and the edges are no longer perfect. But I will brag about working the tin around the stove pipe and flashing. Went better then I hoped and it should shed water.

By fall there will be a small wood “sidewalk” off the front and a 10x10 deck with 6’ fence wall on two sides off the side of the building.

Eventually cedar shakes on the gables and ship lap for the rest of the siding.

We gotta balance spending time and money on that project vs projects inside the house!

Any of you Midwest guys know anything about a shell lake duck boat? Got a friend who has one hanging in his garage that looks to used very little. Said he bought it because he thought he needed it and then never used it. I planted the seed that I was interested but can’t find any info on it.

Google doesn’t pull up much on them but this is the best pic I could find. Kinda reminds me of the alumacraft ducker.

How does it work that all 3 kids rooms are refloored before my own damn bedroom? Spoiled F trophies!

This just leaves our bedroom and the porch floor.

Really thinking hard about doing engineered hardwood for our bedroom for ease on installation. Vinyl plank on the porch.

I just paid for another man to put steps on my porch... I’ve been emasculated, but it looks great!
