Well, that is puzzling.

Sounds like time for the reman unless you plan to work on it all summer. :crying:

I’m gonna pull the trigger and order the reman this week. I need this thing to make me money and quit dissolving my savings.

I don't blame you but still sucks. All that time and money spent to NOT HAVE that kind of problem. :fingerhead:

Good morning all,
Baby Back ribs on the new Camp Chef for dinner. But may have to do grilling in the rain this afternoon.

Run-off has started in the river. Gonna be too mucked up to fish for a couple of weeks with warm weather and today's rain, but son and I are expecting to fish Ririe Reservoir for Kokanee tomorrow. No wind or rain forecast.

I've been doing more shopping than fishing. :fingerhead: We get these windy, rainy, quick temp change springs which are unpredictable for quality time in a float tube. Planning a few days this month in southern Ohio strip pit country. Maybe one night fish late and sleep in truck and then fish it at sunrise again. Hit the closest hotel mid afternoon for a nap, take a shower and then go back and fish another evening into dark. If fishing is good go back for another early morning outing.

Have these coming...from my Amazon spree. Trick for me on these two-day trips is pack light but comfortable and not have to leave the area and burn time driving into the closest town 20 miles away.

Ready to retire the old porcelain percolator (never got coffee without grinds), gotta love propane:

Sleeping in the back of the truck not ideal anymore but overnighters are do-able. No skeeters and some fresh air helps. No alarm clock needed with the birds around. These are cheap, hope they fit well enough, great idea for skeeter netting stretching over the rear door windows:

Easy midnight snack:

Where are the black Jitterbugs? Sin to night fish Ohio Power without 'em. Or oughta be.

Indeed. Just gotta be careful against all the downed timber at darkthirty. I bring an extra rod to leave on shore in case a Beaver decides to sneak up behind me and THWAP his tail in the still silence of 1:00 AM. About threw the rod in the water a few times.

I'm fishing a few of dad's lures (hoola poppers and jitter bugs) out of his tacklebox. But I'm as careful as can be not losing one to a bad cast in the dark.

HNT I hope you have a good trip, have fun as well!!

My wife and I bought kayaks, and yep first time out I got wet within about a minute, turned it right over, had everyone laughing for sure. SOOOOO we are paddling somewhere in FLA next month, I let the ladies figure all that out. But I do know I will go ready to take on a Gator if needed.

Tell me about it. The funny thing is that I routinely dig into things way more complicated than that without a problem but for whatever reason the universe doesn’t want me rebuilding truck transmissions.

Dude, over a decade I saw some like yours that were just a plain friggin' mystery. I had great tranny rebuilders but once in awhile you'd get a standard transmission that no one could EVER get right. Every time it was rebuilt with everything it needed (and some it didn't need but we weren't taking any chances again), the SOB would rake, blow up, bearings blow-out, etc. WE would go buy a reman and lose money because we were tired of losing money continuing to replace stuff we had already replaced with new. :fingerhead:

All I can figure is that something happened to the case when the original failure happened that I don’t have experience to pick up on. Everything was spinning freely and I followed the manual to set up the bearing preload. No matter what, it didn’t work out so all I can do is eat my slice of humble pie and move forward.
