Fun fact is that the Green Monster has been replaced on the retriever game circuits by what I'm pretty sure began as the same $7 dollar Acme whistle stuck into a piece of motor oil funnel - the refined version of which sells for $18.

Reminds me of the full, un-opened case of JR Ewing beer I found by a dumpster 38 years ago. Everything still intact, cardboard support case, 6 pack rings, no dents, etc.

I thought then that at some point (based on what happened with Billy Beer) that it would be worth something.

Here I sit almost 4 decades later and it's not worth enough for me to dig it out from it's resting place of storage under a set of steps 7 feet from my desk.

***I did think if Larry Hagman died it would help but it hasn't.

I hear that from my wife's family all the time, and it is usually related to something about the Cubs or Hawkeyes. "Hey, you should hang onto that, it could be worth a lot some day."

And my response is, yes, it is worth $0.00 today, and will be worth 100x that amount if you hang onto it for fifty years.

But granted, these are people who if they find a $20 bill in their coat, they think it is their lucky day and they take the $20 to the boat to donate it to the gambling industry.
