I can agree with that.

Just hope they can keep it up for one more game, they are definitely hitting their stride. I think the offense will be able to do their thing. The national championship will live and die with what the buckeyes defense does, in my opinion anyways.

I agree that defense will make a big difference and also that Sermon made a huge difference (and will need to again) in the final. Tight ends showed up big time as well.

I don't think the "beat up" thing mattered much. Players in every conference still missed games but most coaches would agree the reps are what's important to big games/better opponents. Ohio State was missing 22 players to a 100% healthy Northwestern team. So they beat teams with similar games played as well as those that played 11. And heck - if games not played gives teams an advantage, WTH happened to the rest of the BigTen? :lol3:

Relative to being "beat up" or not because of fewer games played, they all played a level playing field in that regard. It's not as if 1/2 the Big10 was playing 6 games and the other 1/2 11.

I will eat my crow OSU was by far the better team and put together an impressive game plan. The championship game will absolutely be the 2 best teams.

Seems reasonable and Ohio State will give it a shot despite a 7-0 record missing games with:

Illinois @ 2-8
Maryland @ 2-3
Michigan @ 2-3
Iowa @ 6-2 (wish we could have played that game)
Buffalo @ 6-1 (in the ever threatening MAC east conference)

but including:

Championship title wins with:

[email protected] 6-1
Clemson @ 10-2

We'll see - hope both teams are healthy and COVID doesn't screw the pooch yet again or anyone takes a cheap hit changing the opposing team dynamic. Bama is a force - we'll need our playa's.

They need to restructure the playoff and recruiting rules or this will be the way it is for a long time. It will just compound with time.

I don’t think that even Alabama could have beaten Alabama last night.

Maybe start with a salary cap.

This is a tough issue because success breeds success, and a winning culture is infectious. Whether a sports team or a company, you can feel it when it is cultural. No MBA can create a strategy for it. Alabama has it. OSU has it. But yesterday, Alabama had the best players, and they showed up.

And I was asleep long before the super spreader celebration ensued.

I was surprised that Harbaugh's contract was extended. While they built in more performance metrics I'm not convinced that's what Michiganders wanted? He just has not done well there. Thots?
