Slow going on the Big Horn

Seemed like the only opportunities to shoot geese or big ducks on the river was jump shooting right at first light in the morning and birds coming in to roost right at the end of shooting light in the evening. Some goldeneyes on the river during the day and a handful of high flying single or double geese but that was it.

It was in the 40’s or 50’s and clear both days so seems like the birds just roost on the river then go straight to feed all day and then come back right at dark to roost again. I guess you need to hunt the fields if the weather is good and maybe the birds stick to the river more when it’s really cold and nasty out? That sound right to anyone who has hunter the Big Horn?
