It's the weather.
It seems to me that most of the ducks blew through very early this year.
We haven't seen nearly as many mallards or divers as we usually see this time of year.
Have hunted several days already since the western zone reopened and, with the exception of big mergs, the ducks have been few and far between.
Geese are still around in decent numbers. Divers were here, got pounded hard for 3 days had enough and baled. Weather is to mild there are still plenty up north that haven't dropped down yet. I mean, there isn't even any ice forming on big water yet, usually were smashing through skim ice in the harbors to get to the birds. Hopefully new birds drop.
Last week was the severe drop in temp and strong winds for several days....I thought this past weekend would have been a slam dunk. Besides the usual Brant, absolutely dead.
I've been hearing that Bruno. I've been in retard gear all season, nothing going on.
