Looking for an impoundment to lease for the 2017-18 season or even a blind to lease. Willing to pay up to 3k for an impoundment for the year?

Where and what size? What crop? 3k will not get you an impoundment lease or even a club membership anywhere in coastal NC. Average lease is 1,500-3,000 per acre. Most 10 ac corn impoundments are leasing for 25k-30k per season. The owner typically has 4-500 per acre in planting and pumping alone. Clubs in coastal NC are very expensive and have low turn over rates.

Echoduck is correct, the cost incurred by the owner even if it does not have ducks includes about $450 per acre to plant and spray, $200 per acre opportunity lost for not renting to a farmer for crops, about $100 per acre to flood, cost of blinds and brushing, dike maintenance, and insurance cost The old saying is that just because you have flooded corn does not mean you will have ducks. I would dare say most impoundments available for lease are not worth leasing. The good ones just do not turn over.
