Hunting season is only about a month and a half away whose ready!!!

I just moved down from the DC area so this will be my first season hunting NC! Hoping to get on some birds this year!

Been busy the lats few weeks with duck work. Finished seeding rice to see how that does. Working on clearing some trees in the next week or two. Got a new duck boat that I have done almost nothing on so gotta jump on that. Other than that everything is good.

I am behind, I always underestimate how long my projects will take and how much they will cost. Missed out on a great spring and early summer of fishing trying to get my new impoundment finished. finally got it cleared, dikes built, riser in place, pit blind in place and thousands of roots and wood pieces picked up. Just finished planting it on Friday. I planted 65 day Canadian corn. go ahead and laugh, all the farmers on Northlake road are laughing. they have never heard of the stuff before. Anyway it is in the ground and heavily fertilized. Hopefully it will germinate and make.

I don't have my boat blind ready, my decoys ready or much else done but this new project. regardless, I am going fishing for the next few weeks.

Dove season starts this Saturday I wish I could go goose hunting Friday but school won't let me

I've gotten pretty good at blocking thoughts of it right after the season is over. I'm usually pretty burned out by then anyway, so it's not that hard. It's now, when Dove season comes in, the days get shorter, the nights cooler, and you start seeing more geese moving, that it really comes on strong again. Not too much longer but time seems to slow down from now until the opener. A lot like xmas when we were kids. Took forever.
