North Carolina kills about twice as many ducks as any other state on the Atlantic Flyway. We have way more hunters than most of the other AF states (about 32,000). The vast majority of those birds are taken in Currituck, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico and Carteret.
There are nice and expensive clubs on private land in all of those counties. There is also a lot of public water that the NC Public Trust Doctrine says is for every citizen to be able to hunt. however, in 4 of those counties (not Hyde) a few greedy people got the state legislature to pass local laws that gives exclusive rights on public water to a few privileged people. each county is different so read up on it. usually in the NCWRC hunting regs.
