good advice, I use texas rigs in shallow water situations, mainly impoundments, this is where I hunt most often. Texas rigs are excellent for this type of situation. I do not use Texas rigs in creeks/swamps of central NC.
I do not use mallard decoys in impoundments, not enough mallards where I hunt in Hyde to worry about. mostly wigeon, pintail, black duck and teal decoys.
I use mallard and wood duck decoys in the creeks and swamps.
in the sound I use diver decoys on a net and long lines. I also throw in a few wigeon (usually not texas rigged)
