Top tier Duck Clubs in NC?

Dear all, I am looking for a top notch place to get involved with in NC for duck hunting. Land seems incredibly scarce in eastern NC that would be good to build impoundments, but if anyone knows of any I am interested in purchasing some. The second option seems to be leasing an impoundment, but I have heard from a few that this can be a bust as well. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

There are several top tier clubs in eastern NC. Most aren’t taking new members or have a wait list long enough that you likely would never get a chance to join. Most are 250,000-500,000 buy ins and annual dues of 20-50,000. I know a group of 7 guys who lease an impoundment per season for 100,000 per hunter. A few good ones come on the market for sale from time to time, Greenhill farms 60 ac impoundment sold for 2.1 million 2 years ago. Another went for 3.2 million last season.

Echoduck is correct. You may want to check with Pat Simmons in Fairfield, NC. He has a top notch place and may have a blind available. His rate is approximately $40,000 per season. Provides about 4 hunts per week for a group of 4.

In NC unless you put out tame release birds or really, really bait; there are no guarantees.

Amazing what a duck can cost. But yes I may have to give pat a call. Thank you guys for the help. $100,000 a club, hell I may just wait for a nice place to come up for sale. If you pay over $100,000 a season for 10-15 years then you may as well just buy a quality place to have forever.

In NC? Never. That same 100k gets me a much better spot in my home state of KY.

I did that (not 100,000 per year) and it has been a great experience. You hunt when you want to not when the club designates. you set the blinds up like you want to, you do not have to deal with the clubs rules on blind placement. You don't have to deal with some other member's son shooting at hen mergansers when pintails are working. You flood when you want to.

take this for what its worth, but this is my two cents.

the money it seems to take to get a good duck hunt season here in NC is insane... take a 1/3 of that, book you a couple of hunts with Honey Bake in Louisiana <https://www.honeybrake.com/>, and trust me... you wont ever want to go back to NC to hunt again.

I have a private club in Dare County. 10 year membership is $300,000. You get access to 4 licensed blinds in Dare County. You can hunt four days per week and allowed up to 2 guest. Club has two members...................me and the first person that puts $300,000 in my hand. No lodging, no meals. Must have your own boat and decoys.

but if someone wants to piss away half a million dollars duck hunting in NC we can make it happen. The guys hunting some the blinds in the same area I hunt are likely paying more than that.

I'm not, I'll have to check it out. I've seen the movie but probably only once. I don't watch a lot of movies/tv, just not my thing.
